The Path Less Taken

Follow my paths. The title refers to the path I take in creating these. Each starts unplanned with a abstract pouring of liquid acrylics, the type used for airbrushing. I let the paint swirl and mix and even get in with my fingers like a little kid! Then I let it dry over night. The image is in motion and changes as it settles. As I study the image a scene starts to appear to me and I start painting the scene. As I paint I feel myself walking into each scene, following the path and touching each rock I paint. In many of these paintings I start the viewer at the beginning of the path.

I love the 3 D effect I get with the paint. If I want to add a tree or two, I use the same acrylics. With the right mixture I can get something real close to looking like bark:
